- Endeavor. Figure out what you really want in life and what it takes to get there. Being successful means different things to different people. Money is probably the number one answer, not because it is necessarily the end, but rather a means to the end. A lack of money is the root of the majority of people’s unhappiness. While it may be true that money doesn’t necessarily buy happiness, it ‘s more comfortable to cry in a Cadillac than on a bicycle.
- Come up with a plan. This is where I put pen to paper and get some sort of an outline, basic business idea, flow chart to do list, whatever you want in order to give yourself something tangible to refer to.
- Get to Work on the plan. Don’t spend your time daydreaming and planning forever. It doesn’t take long to be able to know what to do next. Once you know what to do, do it! Don’t be delayed by trivialities like contracts and licensing and long drawn out mission statements. You can start without all that, just start.
- Motivation, Discipline and Perseverance. These are things you must learn in order to succeed at whatever you endeavor.
- Seek Perfection. Do everything properly. The little things you do during the day have an effect on your life. From the way you fold your towels To how you drive your car, the daily tasks you perform during the day must be done in such a way to make things less complicated and less prone to error. You cannot let even the smallest thing slide from that rule, because if you relax that rule once, it makes it much easier to relax that rule in the future, so you let it slide time and time again, until you are back where you started, wondering why that technique didn’t work.
- Always strive to learn or experience new things.
- The Grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence. Constantly being discontented with your situation isn’t always a good thing. While it is crucial when it comes to being motivated to change for the better, too much of something can be bad as well. At some point you should learn to be happy with certain situations. One of the biggest keys to happiness is to be able to look back and see how far you have come, how much you have accomplished and be able to take a break to enjoy the good things, instead of raining on your own parade by being dissatisfied over trivial details. Remember, every race has a finish line, when you’ve won you’ve won. You don’t keep running.
- Avoid Freeloaders.
People who never contribute in a positive way and who are always requesting favors can take a significant toll on your resources. don’t associate with freeloaders or you will always be expected to help them for nothing in return. - Avoid Negativity /Toxicity- This includes people, actions and even thoughts, particularly about oneself. Everyone knows someone like this, always complaining about this and that, putting other people down in order to make themselves feel better, seldom a nice thing to say about anyone or anything, unless it is directed towards themselves. Stay away from people like this lest you become like them as well. Also, if they are bad mouthing everything around them, chances are that they are bad mouthing you as well behind your back.
- Strive towards Positivity.
- Change What you do not like about your life.
- Strive for Excellence in Everything you do.
- Face Down your Fears.
- Set Big Goals for Yourself. Dream big. Live big. Be big.
- Be careful who you take advice from, people will often suggest to you the same mistakes they have made in the past, either on purpose or not.
- Never give up, never surrender.
- Discontent drives ambition. Your best motivation to improve is being unhappy with your current situation.
